Apple Cider Vinegar Wellness Shots

FullSizeRender.jpeg

I'm sure you've heard all the rave about apple cider vinegar (ACV). I was skeptical when I first heard about it; not to mention, it is also tastes pretty disgusting. The more research I did, however, the more I learned just how amazing it is for our bodies. My go-to is Braggs apple cider vinegar, but there are many different options to chose from. I like to get the organic and unfiltered kind.

ACV is known to kill harmful bacteria throughout our bodies, lower blood sugar levels, fight diabetes, help with weight loss/reduce belly fat, lower cholesterol, and improve heart health. Despite the questionable taste, these benefits are enough to keep me drinking it. I want to share with you one of my favorite ACV wellness shot recipes! The additional ingredients make it go down much easier, while the ACV taste gets diluted at the same time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp ACV

  • 3 oz of warm water

  • 1 tsp honey or agave

  • 1 slice of lemon (squeeze juice out and add lemon to the shot)

  • a dash of cinnamon

Directions: Add all ingredients into a cup, stir it up, prepare yourself, and shoot it back! Make sure you do not do it on an empty stomach because it may make you feel nauseous. Also, I DO NOT recommend taking a shot of ACV on its own. It is very acidic, and your stomach and throat will feel like they are on fire. Trust me, I know from experience.

Give this recipe a try. Adjust it as you like and keep in mind all the amazing benefits of ACV. It gets easier the more you do it. Take it in the morning after breakfast, at night after dinner, or after each.
