Associate Clinician
at Pacific Mind Spa, a private practice based in Long Beach, California. I specialize in eating disorders, body image, self-esteem, and the connections between physical and mental health. I completed my Master of Social Work (MSW) program at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) with a specialization in integrated health, eating disorders, and body image. I received my Bachelor’s (B.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and I have years of experience working in school settings as both an educator and, more recently, as a Mental Health Specialist.
At Pacific Mind Spa, I use many different therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), flash technique (FT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) techniques (Phase I-III). I have also obtained my certification in mindfulness to aid in my utilization of DBT and other modalities when working with clients. I believe in creating a safe space that is supportive, non-judgmental, empowering, and kind-hearted no matter the situation as well as reminding every individual that they are capable of healing and that they deserves their own unique treatment plan. Lastly, I have experience leading community support groups, working 1:1 with individuals, and connecting individuals to resources to aid healing.
