Self-Love Over Weight Loss
Why promote self-love over weight loss? I get asked this a lot because the main objective of PFWC: At-Home Transformation is to take the focus away from weight loss and shift it toward self-love. Why? Well, my experience with weight loss has been a roller coaster ride. I have spent too much of my life focusing only on weight loss and nothing else, a mindset that created the evil eating disorder I struggled with for five years.
By taking the focus away from weight, you are going to be able to enjoy the experience so much more. By focusing your mindset on self-love, happiness, health, strength, confidence, etc., you are naturally going to see changes in your body. While weight loss may occur, it should not be your main priority. Finding a balance between fitness, nutrition, and self-love is extremely difficult but WORTH it. By learning to appreciate and love your body, you are going to start doing things out of respect for yourself. Your life will change drastically.
I encourage each of you to shift your focus away from weight loss and, instead, put it toward self-love. Work out and eat well because you love your body and want to make it as healthy as possible, not because you want to be "skinny" to meet society's standards.
You are all beautiful and unique in your own way, and, once you realize that, your life will be changed forever. You will radiate happiness, your perspective on body image will change, and, instead of trying to "fit in," you will stand out in so many AMAZING ways. Who wants to blend in with society anyway? It's much better to be your own beautiful self.
