Episode #53 - "Sarah From the Bachelor" Opens Up About Mental Health, Infertility + IVF, and Pregnancy with Sarah Herron
Trigger Warning: This episode includes conversation around pregnancy loss, miscarriages, & grief associated with childloss.
Welcome to episode #53 of the Recover with Carly Podcast.
This week I sat down with Sarah Herron aka “Sarah From the Bachelor” -IVF warrior, pregnancy loss advocate, & Oliver’s momma!
Sarah first stole everyones heart on season 17 of the Bachelor & Season 1 + 3 of Bachelor in Paradise and has recently taken on a new but very difficult role - IVF warrior & pregnancy loss advocate.
Throughout today’s episode, Sarah opens up about her mental health & stigma associated with getting diagnosed with Bipolar II, as well as finding out she was infertile and would need to undergo IVF in order to conceive. This has been a difficult year to say the least for Sarah and her family as they experienced the loss of the son Oliver when Sarah was about 24 weeks pregnant.
I am incredibly thankful for Sarah’s vulnerability throughout today’s episode. I can’t image how difficult these conversation must be & she is creating such a safe space for so many families around the world
If you or someone you know has experienced pregnancy loss or infertility, Sarah runs a support group called the Infertile Circle & welcomes you all to reach out to her for resources and support. You aren’t alone in this grief and you do not have to navigate this road alone. If you aren’t already following Sarah, I highly recommend! You can find her on Instagram and find out more about the work that Sarah is doing through her website.
